Ben Avon Bookmobile Stop this Saturday
The Ben Avon Bookmobile will be in front of Anchor and Anvil Coffee Bar this Saturday, April 1 from 9:30 – 10:30 am.
The next stop date will be Saturday, April 15, 2023.
Facial coverings are strongly encouraged, regardless of vaccination status. Curbside will still be available for anyone that feels more comfortable continuing with this option.

Yard Waste Disposal
The Quaker Valley Council of Governments has begun offering a new drop-off yard waste program.
It has partnered with Michael Brothers Hauling to allow residents of member communities, including Ben Avon, to dispose of grass clippings, leaves, brush, wood chips, concrete chunks, dirt, and small logs at the company’s facility at 408 Hoffman Road, Reserve Township.
People who want to drop off yard waste must present their driver’s license to verify residency.
Commercial vendors are prohibited from participating.
Drop-off hours are from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturdays.

Route 65 On-ramps to Southbound I-79 Long-term Closure in Effect
PennDOT District 11 is announcing the long-term closure of the ramps from Route 65 and Deer Run Road to southbound I-79 at the Neville Island Bridge in Glenfield Borough, Allegheny County will begin Wednesday, January 18 weather permitting.
Beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, the ramps that carry traffic from Route 65 in both directions and Deer Run Road to southbound I-79 will close to traffic continuously through early mid-February as crews conduct paint containment removal work. All ramp traffic will be detoured.

Free Drop-Off Glass Recycling is available at the Avalon Borough Public Works 629 New Brighton Road, 15202 & at the Sewickley Borough Riverfront Park 300 Chadwick St, Sewickley, PA 15143.
- Hours of operations are dawn to dusk each day
- Glass containers must be rinsed of any perishable debris prior to being recycled
- Adhesive labels and container lids do not need to be removed from glass prior to being recycled
- Glass products such as mirrors, porcelain dishware, and light bulbs will not be accepted.
