Public Works Employee
Ben Avon Borough is filling full time position in the Department of Public Works. No CDL required but candidate must have truck driving experience and must be able to handle an attached trailer. Experience driving with snow plow and salt spreader is preferred and are important requirements of the job. Experience in public works in general is preferred. General carpentry and mechanical skills necessary to this critical position in a small crew. Duties include but not limited to maintenance and repair of Borough facilities, infrastructure, parks, signs, emergency call outs, leaf collection and snow removal. Position may, at times, require working more than 8 consecutive hours per day and/or forty hours per week. Position will require 24 hours on-call availability particularly during winter months for snow removal. Candidate must be able to work in outside weather conditions all times of the year, must be able to drive a manual transmission and have a valid PA driver’s license. Additional skill sets (concrete finishing, storm/sanitary sewer construction, electrical wiring knowledge, welding, backhoe operation, landscaping, grading) are desired but not required. We offer competitive wage and benefits to employees. Position will be paid on an hourly basis, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Public Works Temporary Help
Ben Avon Borough is seeking applicants for temporary employment in the public works department. Applicants must be in good physical condition to handle challenging outdoor work. They must also agree to a background check. A driver’s license with a clean driving record is a plus. Ben Avon is an EOE.

Avonworth Municipal Authority Volunteer
Ben Avon is looking for a few good residents to serve as Non-voting members of the Avonworth Municipal Authority – The AMA is the overseeing authority for the Avonworth Community Park which provides a variety of recreational and social amenities to the five communities within the Avonworth district.
